The PFC is a Child Safe Organisation

View our Child Safe Policy

The Pakenham Floorball Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.

The new Victorian Child Safety Standards (Victorian Government legislation as of January 1, 2017) now applies to sporting organisations that operate and provide sporting services to children within Victoria.

The standards relate to child protection within our Club, and include requirements to have practices, procedures and policies in place.

The Standards apply to:

Committee of Management
All volunteers (coaches, captains, team managers, referees, officials, administrators, scorers etc)
All students on placement
Any contractors that are engaged

Remember: Child safety is about creating a culture and environment within our sport that is supportive and protective of children.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

It is a requirement of the PFC that all committee members, referees, coaches, team managers, and any other official working with juniors possess a valid WWCC.

Exception: Under 18 year olds do not require a WWCC

If this applies to you, please forward a copy of your valid WWCC to secretary.pakenhamfloorball@gmail.com. A photo taken on your smart phone will be sufficient, as long as the numbers are visible.

If you do not possess a valid WWCC, you will need to apply for one here. A volunteer check is all you need, including for paid referees.

Online Training for Club Officials

It is a requirement of the PFC that all committee members, referees, coaches, team managers, and any other official working with juniors (including under 18 year olds) complete two free online courses.

Child Protection and Harassment & Discrimination are offered free on the Play by the Rules website.

Upon completion, please forward a copy of your completion certificate to secretary.pakenhamfloorball@gmail.com.

Safety Equipment for Juniors

As of the 1st June 2018, it is compulsory for any players below the age of 18 to wear protective goggles when participating in Australian Floorball Association (AFA) sanctioned events.

This includes all activities organised by the Pakenham Floorball Club Inc.

Protective goggles are available for sale from Hashtag floorball on a Thursday night during regular competitions, but you may use any protective glasses that meet the requirements set out in the AFA Protective Eyewear Policy.
